Richard (Rick) Ranson began practicing law in Colorado in 1971, focusing on civil litigation, arbitration and administrative hearings. Mr. Ranson, a founding partner of Ranson & Kane, PC, no longer engages in litigation or practices law. Prior to retiring, Mr. Ranson previously litigated matters related to highway contracts, airport contracts, landfill contracts, construction by private contractors, many of which involved CDOT, FHWA, OSHA, MSHA and EPA. He has represented numerous clients in arbitrations, jury trials, and court trials involving residential construction, commercial construction, contract disputes, homeowner association disputes, actions against insurance companies based on the failure to provide benefits and coverage (bad faith), mechanic’s lien claims, and disputes between shareholders, members and partners. Rick has successfully climbed some of the highest mountains in the U.S., Canada, Africa, and Nepal. He is an avid fly fisherman, glider pilot, private pilot, and mountain biker.
